Fashion modeling

Modeling Job Types:

A fashion model tends to promote clothing, cosmetics or accessories to consumers and buyers in the high fashion industry. They model these items in fashion shows, magazines or posters. Fashion models usually work for high fashion designers such as Armani or Christian Dior and are featured in fashion magazines such as Grazia or Vogue.

To be a fashion model you need to adhere to certain characteristics and measurements:

• Ideally a female fashion model should be between 15-22 years old and a male fashion model should be between 18-25 years old.
• The Association of Model Agents (AMA) stipulates that a female fashion model should be at least 5'8 (1.72 m) and be around 34-24-34 inches (86-61-86 cms). A male fashion model should be at least 5'11 and be around 38-40inch (97-102cm) chest and 30-32inch (76-81cm) waist.
• Ideally have an interest in fashion trends, hair and make-up.
• Be a complete professional with a pleasant personality when interacting with other professionals ie models and photographers.
• Stay determined when trying to find work in the early stages of your modeling career.
• Ability to work long days within a busy atmosphere.
• Maintain a healthy well balanced diet and an excellent complexion.
• Maintain healthy hair, teeth and fitness.

It is also important to remember that to be a fashion model you do not require any previous qualifications.
