Modeling Job Types:

There are two types of hip-hop models. These being models that solely do hip-hop calenders or magazines and those that do this as well as hip-hop videos.

In recent years the hip-hop industry has grown in popularity therefore has resulted in additional hip-hop models acquiring work.

Hip-hop models are also known as hip-hop honeys or dimes. Hip-hop models have become so popular that magazines such as XXL have dedicated whole sections to the models.

If hip-hop models attempt to get themselves in a hip-hop music video they can further careers. For example, the rap artist Gloria Velez started her career appearing as a hip-hop model in NSYNC and Sisqo music videos. After doing so she decided to become a rap artist and is no longer a hip-hop model.

The hip-hop industry is so demanding at the present moment that there is a tremendous amount of work for hip-hop models.

To become a hip-hop model these particular skills are required:

• Have an interest in the hip-hop industry
• Have a hip-hop image
• Be a complete professional with a pleasant personality when interacting with other professionals ie models and photographers.
• Stay determined when trying to find work
• Ability to work long days within a busy atmosphere
• Be self-motivated
• Be confident
